Resumo: The thermodilution method is very popular for measuring cardiac output, and could allow the measurement of heart ejection fraction if the temperature probe used in the catheter were not so slow. However, if the probe response were available, one could estimate the real response by using a deconvolution operation, and would be able to obtain the ejection fraction. The method presented here allows the estimation of the probe response, so that one can get a good estimate of the ejection fraction. An important step of the method uses a feed-forward neural network with Levenberg-Marquardt learning rule. The method was tested and showed good results.
